Moshi Moshi!

It's Monday, and I'm cleaning out the studio, and catching up on some design work.

I have a whole host of personal projects that I'm ready to go to press with, but I need to clear some space first. I thought it would be fun to have a giveaway to the first five people who leave a comment. Since I have no way of seeing if this is actually being read, I think everybody wins! Happy Monday.

Pretty in Pink (and Taupe)

I'm really flattered to have been included in the latest issue of Martha Stewart Weddings!

I designed an escort card and an envelope, drawing on the artwork from a full invitation suite that I'd already created. I think the artwork looks really charming in the bright colors and at this smaller scale. While the Designer in me was really very pleased, the Printer in me was very cross at said-Designer (what were you thinking?!); artwork like this ('bleeding' off the edges of the paper, the slight curve of the art and the way it lays over the 'seams' of the folded envelope) is technically really difficult to print well. I know—nobody knows the troubles I've seen— but really, it was a fun challenge that only another experienced printer could appreciate (or probably even notice).

And, at the end of the day, what shows is the perfectly sweet results and I am truly grateful.

Hello, World!

Welcome to my little blog on the webs. I know, I know— just what the world needs—another person's musings on art and paper and printing. A little ironic if you know me, as I've come relatively late to the world of computers. Up until about six years ago, I was hand-setting all of my lead type and (while I wish I were kidding), didn't even know how to turn a computer on. Seriously. Ask my husband.

So, with all of this being said, it's no surprise that I am terrible at updating my web site (Hi, Josh!). I thought this could be an approachable way for me to show off little projects and give my friends far and abroad a little peak in the studio, as it were.

We'll see how this goes, and thank you for reading. Feel free to drop me a line so I know if this even works. xo Victoria
